Asteroid Belt
Distance 330 million to 480 million km.
Around 7,000 known, with estimated 500,000 most smaller than 1 km in diameter. Largest is Ceres, diameter approx 1000 km, discovered in 1801. Three more found in next six years, Pallas, Juno and Vesta. About half the mass contained in Ceres, Vesta, Pallas and Hygeia.
